According to the data, having a gun in your home doesn't make you safer, in fact, it's just the opposite, increasing the likelihood of a firearm-related death by as much as 50%

Despite this, many millions of Americans feel safer with a gun. And that's great for them and their mental health, but what happens when the gun belongs to someone who is unstable? Well, this is what happens.

This short video paints the above picture better than any set of data ever could. An idiot holding a gun walks into a teen's room, points it at him, and says, "I'm going to shoot you." A woman (who we cannot confirm as the victim's mother, though she might be) steps in between the two trying to de-escalate the situation.

She closes the door and the man can be heard saying, "I'm tired of this, I'm going to blow both of you away." At which point the man filming, who was later identified by10News as 24-year-old Kyle W. Spitze gets up out of bed and follows the deranged man saying, "Oh you're going to shoot her too?" "Shoot me!"

According to 10News, the man with the gun, 68-year-old Jeffrey Scott West, later died due to a self-inflicted gunshot wound. West soon then pulls the trigger, grazing Spitze's ear and leading to him and the woman fleeing the house before calling 9-1-1.

So let this be a lesson to you, if some crazy old dude with a gun in threatening to shoot you, the last thing you should say is, "Shoot me!" He just might do it.
